Saxmundham market town high street

The Suffolk Coast's gateway

Saxmundham Accommodation

Saxmundham is a proper Suffolk market town — Georgian high street, weekly market, monthly farmers' market, a Tesco and a Waitrose. And — crucially — direct trains to London Liverpool Street in about two hours. For a no-car Suffolk weekend, this is the only sensible base.

Most of our Saxmundham cottages are walkable from the station, which makes train arrivals genuinely easy. From here, taxis to Aldeburgh (15 mins), Southwold (25 mins), Snape (10 mins) and Minsmere (15 mins) are easy and cheap.

It's also a strong choice if you have a car: central position, good supermarkets for the self-catering shop, and you avoid the parking pain of Southwold and Aldeburgh.
